Manic Monday

It's amazing how Mondays always seem the same. No matter how much I try to prevent the overwhelming flood every Monday morning brings I just can't seem to do it. It almost seems to be worse after we've had a really good weekend. Probably because if we're out having fun we're not here getting things done.

This week doesn't seem too busy so far. Tomorrow is Chiggie's 8th birthday and if we can get some cooperative weather than we're going to the pool. She's having her party with family and friends of Saturday. Other than that we'll go to the library on Wednesday and that's about it. I need to get some things organized for camp. Chiggie informed me this morning that we leave in 18 days. They are beyond excited and really I am too. I'm sure it will be a great memory for all of us. I'll be sure to post some pictures of the birthday girl tomorrow!

Sunday

Today was relaxing. We made it to church with time to spare. That's an accomplishment all in itself. Today was the beginning of a new women's Bible study and while I was hesitant to join at first I'm kind of excited to see how it turns out. After church we stopped off at the store to pick up a few things. It wasn't busy and we cruised through in record time. I now have enough stuff to hold us over for a few days. I HATE shopping like that, but Friday is my normal shopping day and we were gone so it'll have to do for this week.

Once we got home we ate lunch and lounged around. I got several loads of laundry done and that always makes me feel better. I love to start the week off prepared. It's been really windy so the girls have been hanging out inside. They've read some books, watched a movie, colored, and just played. It has been a great weekend for all of us I think. Oh yeah, the King shaved off the Mohawk. I guess he preferred to be bald. Oh well...

C'mon, Laugh

First I must say, Friday was our 10th wedding anniversary. Pretty cool. We went out of town for the weekend and enjoyed spending some time together. It was nice to have the time to reconnect and I definitely feel re-charged. I can't wait to see what another 10 years brings. This picture sums up what Chiggie is doing most of the time. She LOVES to read. I do too, so no real surprise. We go to the library once a week and stock up on some new material. The little girls are starting to show more of an interest in books as well.

Midge loves to wear dresses and have her hair fixed. Here she is modeling her new dress. I actually bought it this past winter and forgot about it. She was thrilled when I found it.

Doesn't Boo look huge. How can this be my baby? She's obsessed with this ride on toy right now. It was at one time Tea's favorite and then Midge's so it's seen better days.

Here they all are modeling before we left for a bbq. This picture just screams we love summer to me.
I saved the funniest picture for last. For those of you that know us you may know that the King and I have had hair wars for years. He constantly wants me to cut his hair and I'm not all that comfortable doing it. I just don't know what I'm doing. Much to his shock I proved that tonight. He had no idea what style he was getting:

Awww c'mon King laugh. We are!

Is it Funny?

Boo is definitely entering the mischievous phase. Her favorite thing to do is pull a stool over to the kitchen counter and climb on up. She also enjoys using a stool to flip the lights on and off. Of course I take her down every time I catch her but she isn't easily deterred.

Today we had pizzas for lunch. They were on the counter cooling and making the most of my time I decided to throw in a quick load of laundry while I waited. Well apparently it didn't need much coolin'. When I came back into the kitchen there was the stool and a sheepish looking Boo perched on the counter. She had eaten half the topping off of one of the pizzas. She looked startled when she saw me. Almost like she didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Is it funny?" She asked. Somehow it was.

Lunch was salvageable. There was still plenty. Boo wasn't really that hungry anyway. Incidents like this keep me on my toes. It's hard for me to believe she's not a baby anymore. These things make me realize she is a toddler for sure.

Attitude Adjustment

I was bummed again this morning. I was shocked to wake up and have to turn the heat on. It's June already. I can't mention enough how tired we are of being cooped up. After a bit of complaining I decided not to stay cooped up. I cleaned up the house, fed the girls, and we went swimming. It was indoors at the gym of course, but it was still out. My little sisters came along and all of the kids had a blast. I would share the pictures with you but I didn't take any. Remember? I don't take my camera to the pool anymore. Way too risky. I still miss that camera by the way.

Anyway, I'm glad we went. I have had kind of a negative attitude about things lately. I want things to be a certain way (don't we all) and then when they don't turn out the way I planned I let it get to me too much. Life happens we all know that. I'm really going to work on this.

Groggy

That's how I'm feeling today after getting home from the drive-in at 2am. The good news is that means it was successful. Very successful. All four kids made it through the first movie (UP) and they slowly fell asleep during the second. It was a little too cool to sit outside of the car, but we were very comfortable inside with our drinks and snacks. Unfortunately we didn't make it to church this morning. When the alarm went of at 6:30 it was all I could do to reach over and turn it off. Thankfully the girls all slept until 9:30.

This afternoon I'm going to take Chiggie for a long bike ride. I'm hoping it will wake me up and get me motivated to do something around the house when I get back. We made meatball subs for lunch and it left quite the mess.

Excitement

There is much excitement in our home tonight. We are about to eat dinner and then the girls will take a quick bath and get their pajamas on. Sound exciting? Of course that's not the exciting part. After their all pj'd up we're taking them to the drive-in to see UP and the Hannah Montana Move.

I love the drive-in. So many memories. I went last night and bought all kinds of snacks to keep us entertained as well. I think we'll have a great time. Keep your fingers crossed everybody cooperates!
