Our journey to home school began when our oldest started Kindergarten. We just didn't have the same experiences our public school going friends and family did. While our girls always did well academically it just wasn't a good fit. Many other factors came into play, but in the spring of 2011 we made the decision to withdraw our oldest child. Our Kindergartner at the time finished out the year. In the fall of 2011 we officially began home schooling our three oldest girls. Chiggie is 10 and a fifth grader, Tea is 7 and a 1st/2nd grader, and Midge is in Kindergarten.
We explored many options but have settled on an eclectic mix of many different sources.
For Language Arts we use: LLATL the purple, red, and blue book. We use spellcity as a supplement for spelling.
