Finally a Break!

These last 4 months have been nearly a blur.  Today, I finally submitted my last paper for the semester and am now school free for 6 weeks.  Oddly, that hardly feels long enough after the last several months.  Chiggie is on vacation this week too, so it will be nice to just have some down time.  Well, as much down time as we ever really get I guess.

It's been a busy weekend, but we did squeeze in some fun.  On Friday night Chiggie and Tea spent the night at the church for the 30 hour famine.  They were raising money for their sponsor child, and they had a lot of fun.  We picked them up at 4 the next afternoon, and took them to Culver's to break the fast.  After that we went to the movies and Chiggie and I watched Mocking Jay Part II, and everyone else saw the Peanut Movie.  Everyone was so tired afterward, and no one had any trouble falling asleep.

This morning I got up and got everyone ready for church.  The King had to work.  We turned in our Operation Christmas Child boxes, and the kids were so proud.  They had a lot of fun packing them up.  Tomorrow Tea and Midge have a check-up at the doctors office, but we are pretty free the rest of the week!  I am looking forward to kicking off the holidays!

Beautiful LIttle Ladies

Midge and Boo are at such a fun age.  I often cannot believe how close they have stayed over the years.  They have so much fun together.  I just love them so much!

Lost Tooth

I think it is every kid's dream to lose a tooth at school.  When I picked Midge up on Wednesday she was so excited to have finally lost her wiggly tooth.  Under her pillow it went, and she was a whole dollar richer on Thursday morning!

Thor

Today when I was grocery shopping, I decided to peruse the 75% off Halloween section.  Most everything was gone at this point, but I was able to find Buster another Avenger's costume.  I wish I would have looked sooner, and maybe I could have gotten them all, but at least he now has Captain America and Thor.  He was not with me at the time, so the look on his face when I showed him what I had found was priceless.  The kids do not normally get gifts other than birthdays and holidays, so he was very surprised.  He wanted to wear it to church tomorrow, but I was able to convince him otherwise.

Another Busy Weekend

I am beginning to wonder if exceptionally busy is just our new normal.  I do not always do well with this kind of busy, so I really kind of hope not.  Yesterday I took the four youngest kids to Denver for a field trip to the museum.  It was facilitated through LEAP, however once there we were able to just explore on our own with some friends.  We went to see the Sherlock Holmes exhibit, and it really was neat.  Buster did not enjoy it very much, as he was not fond of the criminal element.  He really likes watching the Avengers, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and I think when he heard the word crime he thought that meant there would be fighting.  He kept asking me if we would have to fight people.  He did however admit to enjoying lunch.

We had Bible study later that night and Chiggie had a friend spend the night who helped babysit.  We ordered pizza for the kids, and the King and I ate later after our study.  Today has been filled with responsibility.  The King had to work so I went grocery shopping and cleaned up.  Tomorrow will be reserved for church and plenty of homework.  I am beyond thrilled to say that in two weeks I will be on Christmas break.  I have so many plans, but the most likely scenario will be a lot of sleeping and cuddling with kids.
