8th Grade Graduate

It is hard to believe that Chiggie is headed to high school! The last several years of having her at home have been amazing. We have grown closer together through this experience, and I am so excited for her and all the experiences that are just around the corner! We will miss her here at home all day, but I know she will be growing and learning so much!

Flowers

It really hasn't felt much like spring around here without flowers. This last weekend, I decided it was time to plant regardless of the weather. It really did cheer me up, and it looks beautiful!

We Saw the Sun!

After weeks of rain we finally had a sunny day today! We weren't about to let it slip by either. We tried out a new splash park with some friends and it did not disappoint! I cannot wait for more of these long summer days!

Swimming Skills

It's no secret that our kids LOVE to swim. We go as often as possible and with the rainy weather we have been going to the rec center even more just to stay active! Boo has been working on her swimming skills and is happy that she can now somersault and do a handstand in the water!

Fanatic

I have posted about Buster's love for sports multiple times, but it just never gets old. This boy loves both football and baseball. His memory is amazing, and he has picked up so much about these sports to be such a little guy. We love seeing him so excited!

Spring Cleaning

This week has been busy. I am finally getting around to spring cleaning, and it has been pretty intense! It is amazing what can be accumulated in a year! We have also been working on small maintenance projects as we go which has slowed things down considerably! It's also been extremely messy as this picture shows.

On top of all the cleaning it was also the kids last day of LEAP. They had a field day, picnic, and award ceremony. I took pictures, I just need to upload them. It has also continued to rain almost daily, and today was the sunniest it has been in a long time, until storms rolled in this afternoon.
Next week's forecast is similar, and I am getting really anxious to plant flowers! I am hoping we get some major sun soon.

More Rain!

At least there are some benefits, like these beautiful blooms on our bushes in the back yard! We are praying there is no serious flooding!

Rain, Rain, Rain

It has been raining for days. The county is under flood watch and I sincerely pray that nothing comes of it. We are all feeling a little stir crazy at this point.

Buster is making the best of it, utilizing his umbrella and boots. Until Daddy got home that is, and then he had some work to do!

Good Deals

Patience does not come easy for me. For years I have disliked thrift stores for this reason. It just seemed like a lot of work to sift through so many items, just to find a couple of good deals. However, I am trying to get better about saving money, so I have been going to the thrift store around the corner occasionally on Saturdays (half-off day) just to search a bit. Yesterday was a good deal day. I wa able to find 6 shirts for Chiggie, a pair of shirts for the King, a shirt for Tea, and an outfit for Bustet for under $30! Here Buster is, multitasking by eating cereal and modeling his new duds at the same time.

Happy Birthday to the King!

Rockies Fan

Buster is a major sports fan. With football season over, he transitioned smoothly to baseball. He knows the players by name and number, and is familiar with many of the other teams as well.  He is so fun to watch and I can't wait until he is old enough to play himself!

Finally!

Tea has been waiting for what seems like an eternity, to her, to be able to attend youth group. Tonight was her big night. She had a blast and can't wait for next week!

Yard Plans

Both our front and back yards have really come a long way since last year. We had to do a considerable amount of patch seeding and are pleased to see how much better the grass came in this year. Out front we still need to plant some flowers and work on a plan for the side yards, but otherwise it is looking nice.

The backyard is coming along, but there is a lot of grunt work that needs done. The weeds are terrible along the back fence, the right side yard needs major tending to, and the bushes along the left need major tending. However, the grass has come in nicely and it is a nice large space for the kids to run and play!

Hurray for May!

We are in the official countdown to summer! Friday the little girls had a sleepover and when bad weather changed our original plans of walking to the lake, we went swimming instead.

The next morning, the same bad weather wreaked havoc on the power at church and the pancake breakfast we were helping with was cancelled. We went for donuts instead. The rest of the day was spent relaxing, and Tea and Boo ended up spiking fevers and going to bed early. Hopefully their sickness is short lived and ends with them!
