So Much to do, So Little Time

I would be lying if I said I wasn't feeling a little stressed right now.  We have so much to get done and only 24 days left to do it!  Throw in Easter Holiday, an event I am helping host at our church, and extra homeschooling and the result is what feels like chaos.  We had a huge yardsale this past weekend and I was disappointed with our results.  I think it may have been a little too early.  We advertised but didn't have a ton of customers and none of my big stuff sold.  This was a major bummer, as I had put an entire week's worth of work into it.  The garage is now full of junk that needs to be donated or hauled to the dump.  It should make packing easier though and I plan to get started on that next week.  We are doing extra school assignments each day this week, so that we can take our spring break when we move.  It will be nice to have some time off to explore and get acclimated.  We also need to shop for new seasonal wardrobes and get haircuts.  I really hope we have time for all of this!

Happy Birthday Buster!

Buster, my baby boy, is now 3!  It's amazing.  What a sweet little boy he is becoming.  His speech is phenomenal and I love having conversations with him.  It's bittersweet but I love to see him growing up!  Here's to many more bithdays little man!

Where a Kid can be a Kid!

A good friend's son had a birthday recently and we were the lucky invitees to his Chuck E. Cheese party!  The kids had a blast and it was really the first time Buster was old enough to really play the games and enjoy the experience.  We had a lot of fun and it was a great winter blues buster!

Happy Birthday Midge!

Midge is 7, which to me is unbelievable.  She is such a sweetheart and a true blessing to our family in every way.  She was such a trooper this year, with the impending move we scaled back a little and celebrated with family only, but there were no complaints from her!

She chose dinner out and family joined us for a great evening.  The look on her face where priceless when the staff sang to her and she got her brownie sundae!  Happy Birthday Midge, we love you so much girlie!

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's belated I know, but I don't want to miss out on the opportunity to share how we celebrated this year.  We had a very fun day that started off with heart shaped waffles and consisted of passing out Valentine's to friends and loved ones, the kids got money as a gift so I took them shopping, and then ended off the evening with heart shaped pizza and a double decker cake that we made that morning.  I love all of my Valentine's!

Winds of Change

I hate how long it has been since I have blogged.  I really enjoy blogging, but I especially like looking back through the years and seeing things I had almost forgotten.  For the first time my lack of blogging has had nothing to do with a lack of things to say.  I am bursting with things to say, but my time has been extremely difficult to come by.  As a full-time student, homeschooler, and planning a move there just hasn't been any to spare.

I have been wanting to blog more about our move, but didn't have all the details and didn't want to be cryptic and just leave people wondering (that drives me crazy by the way).  In early January, the King heard rumors that the company he was working for was going under.  It wasn't a dream job by any means and he immediately began looking for other work locally and found another job almost right away.  A week after he left the old job the rumors were confirmed and those who had chosen to wait it out were scrambling for work.  The new job locally really wasn't much better than the old one and instead of working 4 10's and having Fridays off he was now working 5 8's....if they had enough work.  We felt very disheartened and really at a loss.  So many years have been spent trying to make this area work out, when in reality is has been nearly impossible on so many levels.  One day while at work the King received a call, completely out of the blue, from a company offering him a job.  At first it seemed to good to be true, but after looking into it more we realized the time had come. The catch is the job involves fairly extensive travelling.  Industrial jobs just don't last very long and the shorter the job, the higher the pay.  We agonized as we tried to make a decision, but finally decided the only thing holding us back was fear of the unknown.  Of course we will miss our family here, but we will be in a position to visit often.  We bought a new home and we own it out right...and the good news is it goes wherever we go.  Introducing our humble abode:

We head out mid April and begin and our venture begins.  The tone of the blog will change a bit I'm sure as I plan to document our journey as extensively as possible just to prove to my kids later how crazy we really were.
