You Decide

In our family you either get the legs of a body builder or bird legs. What do you think?

What a Week

This week has been crazy. Not normal crazy, but above and beyond crazy. We've had two kids throwing up, dentist appointments and procedures, snow, sleepless nights, and much, much more. Most importantly we've persevered. It gets old really fast though. I though spring would bring with it nice weather and a prompt end to all of this sickness. So far, not the case.

On the bright side my root canal went great. The only pain I felt at all was the shot to give the numbing medication. From there on out it was just staring at the popcorn ceiling listening to a mixed tape from the 90's. Oddly very relaxing.

This weekend is also promising. We're going out to dinner on Friday for the King's birthday (on the 5th) and then we'll be busy on Saturday with Blossom Festival activities. Thank goodness because I am about to go stir crazy. I promise to take lots of pictures and share very soon.

6 Weeks

This post could also be titled "How many sisters does it take to help with a pacifier??"
He's a very loved baby, what can I say.

6 weeks seems like a huge milestone. No matter how many times I have done this it never ceases to amaze me how fast the time goes. One minute you think you're going to have a nervous breakdown if you don't have the baby very soon and the next you're sitting there holding your 6 week old baby. Here are a few things about him I never want to forget:
  • He has gorgeous, big, blue eyes.
  • His tiny chub rolls on his thighs.
  • His exaggerated 'pick me up right now' cry.
  • The bed head he has in the morning.
  • His long feet and tiny toes.

Let's face it, this baby has captured the hearts of our whole family. We love you Buster!

Art Show

Some of Chiggie's artwork was selected for her school's art show this weekend. Her art was on display at the art museum downtown and we all enjoyed going to see it. I'm so proud of how talented and well rounded she is!

Grumpy

The King is on an emergency run to Wal-Mart for Mylicon drops. I can't believe we don't have any in the house but we don't. It seems Mr. Buster has a bit of a tummy ache tonight. Or at least I think he does. He is grumpy, that's for absolute sure. The only way he's happy is if I am swaying him singing "Baby" by Justin Bieber. Yes, only that song works, and yes I know the words. What has become of me????

Friday

Today was just a good day. I didn't get much accomplished as far as housework goes, but we did have fun. I took the kids to see the movie How to Train Your Dragon. It was cute and they really liked it. I was amazed at how easy it was to have all 5 kids at the theater. The hardest part was finding a place where we could all sit together. The baby slept the whole time. As long as he is being held he's happy so that part was really easy.

After we got home I ordered pizza for dinner and we had a relaxing evening. Afterwards I took the baby with me and went grocery shopping. I used to hate to grocery shop but now I just enjoy getting out of the house for a little while. I also like seeing all of the spring/summer stuff out.

Tonight the King and I watched the movie The 4th Kind, and holy cow it was freaky. I don't really have much of an opinion on those things, but it was scary. I hate watching stuff like that right before bed. I hope I sleep tonight.

Sittin' Pretty

We sat Buster in the Bumbo for the first time the other day and he really loved it. He likes to be positioned upright so he can see everything that's going on. He's not really ready to sit in it for very long at all, but long enough to take a really cute picture.

Today has been a long day. It started off wrong when I went to throw in a quick load of towels and my washer started sparking and flames shot from the lid. Very uncool. I of course panicked. The thought of taking 7 people's worth of laundry to the Laundromat was not appealing. Then, just before lunch I remembered that Chiggie had specifically requested a cold lunch today and I had forgotten.

Luckily both problems ended up being easily solved. There were some loose wires on the washer. My Step-Dad came by on his lunch break and fixed that. The towels are now safely drying. As for the lunch, I packed one quickly and made it to the school in time. Tea ran it in to the office for me. She is really growing up. One of the benefits to having an older sister is she knows the school so well that she won't be nearly as nervous for Kindergarten. Anyway, in the end it all worked out. I'm working on being more flexible, but it's not always easy.

There is no school here tomorrow so I'm taking the kids to see a movie. It will be interesting, but my Mom and Sisters are coming too so we'll have lots of help. Then the King has Sunday off and we're all excited for that. It will be so nice to have help on Sunday morning!
