Happy Halloween!

Friday Night Lights

Tonight we took the girls to the last home football game of the season. My little sisters performed as part of the halftime show with the dance team, so that was fun to watch. They all looked so cute, bundled up.

Midge loves to cheer with the cheerleaders.

They all sit amazingly still and actually really watch the game.

I just want to eat her up!

Weird Weather

Since we moved here, just about 6 years ago, this is the strangest fall season we have ever had. It has basically been like winter. It has snowed several times with accumulations of up to 4" already. It's freezing cold at night and the mornings aren't much better. Luckily the girls love the snow, so we're making the best of it.

When All Else Fails

Have a party! The pumpkin patch just was not meant to be this year. The weather has simply not cooperated. Both of the scheduled nights we ended up getting wind and snow. Not your typical cornmaze/pumpkin patch weather. Luckily our church is not discouraged easily and the youth leaders put together a party that the girls enjoyed as much or more than the patch anyway.They all got to choose a pumpkin. Boo was very selective, it was funny.

Tea found the perfect one almost right away.

Marlee helped Boo draw a face on her pumpkin. There was a contest and all of the girls won candy prizes.The King was in charge of carving. He enjoys it and I don't so.... After the carving the kids enjoyed cupcakes and hot cocoa.

They made trick or treat bags and then went on a candy hunt. Midge pulled this chair back and realized she'd hit the mother load.

Up a Tree

My Mom happened upon this bear up a tree on her way home from Wal-Mart. The King and Chiggie headed out to take a look and get a few pictures.

Halloween/Birthday Party

Today was Camie and Marlee's Halloween themed birthday. The girls all had a great time dressing up in their costumes and playing games.

Haircut

Boo got a much needed haircut yesterday from Mema. It resembles the one Midge got at right about the same age. It's a pixie cut and looks adorable curled under. We're hoping it will thicken her hair up a little. She loves it.

She's Hot than She's Cold

Okay, so today is my older "little" sister's 10th birthday. Yes they really were born 1 day shy of 2 years apart. In her honor here are 10 super cool things about her:

1. Again she gets points just for being related.
2. Talented musician. She plays both the piano and the flute.
3. Loves to read.
4. Enjoys riding horses and pretty much everything about horses as well.
5. Great fashion sense. Always trying new hairstyles and outfit combos.
6. She's an excellent babysitter. She willingly keeps an eye on the younger neighbor kids while out playing.
7. Future blogger. She is one of my most dedicated readers.
8. Very ambitious. This is her 2nd year serving on student council.
9. She has very blue eyes. She's the only one of my siblings that does.
10. Straight A student on honor roll. She always does her best.

Overall, she too, is a pretty good kid.

Today is my youngest little sister's 8th birthday. I'd thought I would take the time to mention 8 really cool things about her.

1. She's related to me so she's cool by association
2. She's extremely smart and has a huge vocabulary
3. Excellent piano player
4. Loves pretty much all sports
5. She's an animal whisperer. Seriously, move over Dr. Doolittle
6. She's great with babies and I have babies so we're a great fit
7. She's one of my girls best friends
8. She has a great sense of humor and is always making us laugh about something

Pumpkin Patch Part I

I have titled this part 1 as we will be going back to the patch as a family on Wednesday night with our church youth group. This time I went with Chiggie's 2nd grade class.

They have this really neat corn bin where the kids can play and dig for little pumpkins. Chiggie was making corn angels.

Here she is with her first choice. She later decided she wanted one that was all orange.

Ahhh the final selection. They couldn't get one that was too big to carry on the bus and all the way back to class.

Slow Pace

After a busy summer the relaxing days we've been having have been nice. I think sometimes I fall into the trap of thinking we have to be "busy" to have fun. I enjoy the fact that the girls are growing up at home. I love that they spend the majority of their days playing. They spend very little time in the car. We try to go for a walk everyday. Before we know it our lives will naturally become much busier. For now I'm enjoying just hanging out.

Fall Day

The temperature hasn't picked up much around here so our time has been spent mainly inside. We've gotten creative though.The little girls spent a good bit of the morning in their fort under the pool table. I have no idea why Boo refuses to wear clothes.I love setting out all of the cute decor for the season. I bought this little bear for Chiggie when we lived in Florida. I still set it out every year at this time.The girls love this haunted house village. I plan to add on over the years. This afternoon we baked and decorated Halloween cookies. Fun and delicious. We had spaghetti for dinner which is an all around favorite. Midge had just woken from a short nap and was being just a tad grouchy at this point.After dinner everyone had to try a cookie. Mmmmmm frosting.

There is no better way to finish out the day than a bubble bath.
