Overnight!

This kid got huge! It happened in a blink and it amazes me everyday. I still regularly call him the baby, but it is more evident daily that he is very much a big boy!

Corn Festival

Saturday we went to our first corn festival here in town. The parade started bright and early (to us) at 9:30, so there was no sleeping in. Because of this I have to honestly admit, I debated just staying home. I am so glad we didn't just stay home though, it was a wonderful parade and a lot of fun for the whole family. The floats were great, and it was certainly a nice break from all of my studying!

Back to School

Our homeschool year began on Monday and I have so much to say about everything, but I am struggling to find spare moments for necessary things, like sleep, so it will have to wait. However, today was back to school day at LEAP and here is the crew all ready to go!

Favorite Show

I have mentioned it before, but Buster is really into TMNT! He likes to get up first so that he can watch a few episodes on DVR before anyone else gets up. He also likes to be wearing his Michaelangelo outfit with his Leonardo swords!

So Sweet

When I got home from the gym last night, Midge was waiting with a special drink. She is always so sweet and thoughtful. 

More From the Garden

I am planning on making squash bread today. I have more than I know what to do with! It is a lot of fun for the kids to pick several of these a day!

Water World

This sweet girl had an amazing time with the other youth at our church at Water World. After several days of lighting and thunder storms we really prayed the weather would hold out, and thankfully it did. She got a good bit of sun and can't home and slept 12 hours straight. It's great to see her so happy!

Nighttime Treat

Today's treat didn't come until after 8.  We really haven't had many sweet treats this summer, making this one all the much sweeter!

Last 2 Weeks

We start back to school 2 weeks from today! We hve quite a bit to do to get ready, but I am saving that for next week so that we can have one last week of summer fun! Today we walked to the beach at the lake, had a picnic, and swam. The weather held out and it wasn't too hot or too cool. I hope to cross something more off of our summer bucket list every day this week. Stay tuned for tomorrow!

Another Fun Weekend

We had another fun weekend around here. On Saturday we got some much needed deep cleaning done around the house and then made our monthly trip to SAMs Club. Afterwards, the birthday girls spent some of their money. Boo bought and made this pillow. She also bought a blanket which we have not made yet.

Buster spotted TMNT pajamas and even though he already has a pair, they didn't have the mask so they aren't nearly as cool as these! He wore them the rest of the day and then put them on right after church on Sunday.  I need to do some more deep cleaning today, downstairs, and get some school stuff organized. I cannot believe we start back up in 2 weeks!

August

Dare I say, I am looking forward to autumn? I am certainly not rushing away these final weeks of summer, but just the thought of cooler weather and shorter days makes me smile.  I am also a book nerd and therefore looking forward to school too. I already have some of our books for the year, more are arriving on Tuesday, and then I pick up my check out items from the district on the 15th. Who wouldn't be excited? Well, maybe my kids...We will be supply shopping next week as well which I also love.  We also have a couple of more fun summery things planned, I just need some cooperation from the weather!  So here's to August!
