Winds of Change

I hate how long it has been since I have blogged.  I really enjoy blogging, but I especially like looking back through the years and seeing things I had almost forgotten.  For the first time my lack of blogging has had nothing to do with a lack of things to say.  I am bursting with things to say, but my time has been extremely difficult to come by.  As a full-time student, homeschooler, and planning a move there just hasn't been any to spare.

I have been wanting to blog more about our move, but didn't have all the details and didn't want to be cryptic and just leave people wondering (that drives me crazy by the way).  In early January, the King heard rumors that the company he was working for was going under.  It wasn't a dream job by any means and he immediately began looking for other work locally and found another job almost right away.  A week after he left the old job the rumors were confirmed and those who had chosen to wait it out were scrambling for work.  The new job locally really wasn't much better than the old one and instead of working 4 10's and having Fridays off he was now working 5 8's....if they had enough work.  We felt very disheartened and really at a loss.  So many years have been spent trying to make this area work out, when in reality is has been nearly impossible on so many levels.  One day while at work the King received a call, completely out of the blue, from a company offering him a job.  At first it seemed to good to be true, but after looking into it more we realized the time had come. The catch is the job involves fairly extensive travelling.  Industrial jobs just don't last very long and the shorter the job, the higher the pay.  We agonized as we tried to make a decision, but finally decided the only thing holding us back was fear of the unknown.  Of course we will miss our family here, but we will be in a position to visit often.  We bought a new home and we own it out right...and the good news is it goes wherever we go.  Introducing our humble abode:

We head out mid April and begin and our venture begins.  The tone of the blog will change a bit I'm sure as I plan to document our journey as extensively as possible just to prove to my kids later how crazy we really were.
