I am almost as excited as Chiggie, who knows maybe even more excited. Yesterday was the end of the year Awards Assembly. For some reason I thought it was today. Maybe because so far it's always been on the last day of school. Anyway, after I dropped her off at 8:15 I drove home. I heard the phone ringin as soon as I opened the door so I hustled in and grabbed it. It was her reminding me that the assembly was in 10 minutes. AHHHHHH! Here I was standing in the kitchen in my pajamas, looking at 4 crazy haired kids in there pajamas, trying to decide how I was going to get ready and be back to the school in that amount of time. Flight or fight I suppose. I ran through the house like a crazy lady grabbing clean clothes and telling the girls to bruxh their hair. I got myself dressed, changed the baby, and loaded everybody back up. Luckily we live very close to the school so that wasn't an issue. Unfortunately there was no parking spots left. I had to park several blocks away. I told this story on fb but I left out the part where I fell carrying the baby on the way in the school. He was absolutely fine. I held him up and took the full force myself. How EMBARASSING. Whatever, I was in such a hurry I just got back up and went right in.
Chiggie was so happy to see us. She didn't care that we had crazy hair. I enjoyed being there as well. She got several awards, and I'm very proud of her. Today was the official last day of school. She only went half day. It was so nice to pick her up and know that we're on vacation now. Our own schedule. We've got some really fun plans and I know this is going to be a good summer.

June
I can't tell you how glad I am to see you, sweet, sweet, June. I have waited a very long time for this day. I was slightly disappointed when Midge was grouchy all day long and then ended up with a high fever this afternoon. Please tell me this is not a sign of things to come. Hopefully June will bring with it splashes in pool, a trip to the lake, late evening walks, and much, much more.

Beautiful Day
The weather today was gorgeous. With all the complaining I do, I have to say, I can't think of anything bad to say about today. We slept in to the tune of 9 am, which was fabulous. The kids were all in good spirits, and just like I thought, Tea is feeling much better already. I took Chiggie for a longer bike ride this afternoon. It was my first ride this spring and it felt so good to be out. It's so cool to have a kid old enough to ride pretty much anywhere. We rode for about an hour and then we were both pretty much spent.
We just hung out this afternoon. I re-painted the trim in our sitting room and I can't believe how much better it looks. I guess I didn't realize how bad it was looking. For dinner we grilled hamburgers. It was delicious. It was also our first bbq at home this season. I think we've just been busy having a new baby around because it seems like a lot of these "firsts" are coming later than usual for us. After we ate we took a walk and let the girls play for a long time at the park. Buster was happy in his new stroller and it was a great way for the girls to burn off even more energy.
Tonight they all 5 went right to bed with NO problems. Clearly, every day can't be like today, but that doesn't stop me from wishing it could.

Tradition
What would Memorial Day Weekend be without a trip to see the on call pediatrician? What? That's not a tradition your family has? Well ours sure does. Poor Tea has a double ear infection. She started complaining yesterday and had a rough night too. She seemed a bit better this morning, but I still decided it was better to be safe than to have her experience any more un-neccessary pain. I'm glad it's a simple fix. She'll feel 100% in no time!

Nearly Here
Summer is nearly here. I can feel it in everything we do. Last night we went to the Drive-In to see Shrek IV. It was our first trip this season and Buster's first ever. The movie was hilarious. Way better than the third one. The girls sat in their chairs outside for the majority of the movie and that was fantastic. The weather was gorgeous. Very warm but not too humid at all. Perfect.
Poor Buster had a fussy period this evening and I think he was just overwhelmed. He had a long day and was just too tired. He's been sleeping AWESOME and is a very heavy sleeper. Once he goes down for the night, almost nothing wakes him up. I've been sleeping really good too and even though I've had a bit of a cold, I've been feeling pretty good lately. I can't wait for this next week to be over so the summer can officially begin!

Games Day
Today was Chiggie's school's annual games day. They don't finish up school for another week, but it was fun for them to have a break. The little kids and I went to watch for a bit, but in the end it was really hot and the little girls were getting impatient.
Chiggie cooled off with her water bottle and they had squirt gun/water balloon fights to keep cool.

New Things
This past weekend Chiggie spent a considerable amount of time auditioning for our county's Civic Theater Fall production 'The Music Man.' This morning we found out that she made it in the show and she'll be a townsperson/chorus member. She is so excited. The play is mostly composed of adults and I know this will be such a good experience for her. I can't express how impressed and proud of her I am. She has the courage to try new things and put herself out there, even when she's not sure what will happen.
