Me and my Great Ideas

Do you ever get a burst of ambition and decide to start a huge project, start it, lose the ambition, and then realize you're now in too deep and can't stop? Yeah I'm there. I got the crazy idea to go buy new storage containers, sort through ALL of the girls clothes, and implement a new system. Much easier said than done. Basically all I got done today is the summer clothes sorted and put into the bins and the fall/winter clothes sorted and put into baskets to be washed.

What I'm left with is a gigantic mess. Clothes everywhere. I still have to sort through all of the clothes that are now too small for any of the girls and prepare them for donation. Then I have to sort through the rest of the clothes that aren't for this season and get them packed away. Wow, what a task. We're looking at two more days to get it completely done. Mostly due to the fact that I am interrupted at least 100x a day.

The girls sure had fun today though. While I was focused on the task at hand they set force on their own task: Mission destroy the whole house while Mom is busy. I'm now stepping on Doritos and can't find the family room floor. I guess that's what I get for leaving them mostly unsupervised. I know I'll feel awesome when this task is accomplished. If I survive that is..

Excited

The girls made their FINAL choices and the Halloween costumes have been ordered and will be shipped next week. They are going to be:

Chiggie: Hannah Montana
Tea: Mermaid
Midge: Little Bo Peep
Boo: Rag Doll (think Raggedy Ann)

I'm so excited and hope everyone is well this year!

Picture Day

Today was picture day at school. Luckily Chiggie was able to wear the same dress that she wore in the wedding last weekend. She had never worn it to school before and the colors were great for a fall picture. Chiggie is also Bear of the Week next week. We spent the week working on her "all about me" poster. If you can read her 1st wish, it's a little sad. I'm so glad that it's finally Friday. We have a busy weekend ahead of us. Some cleaning, church events, and yard work. It'll be nice just to have a break from the daily grind.

Lunch

When the school year first began it was extremely hard to adjust to Chiggie being gone all day long. Lunch was an especially different time since we'd had lunch together just about everyday for the last 7 years. I decided it might be fun to take the girls to the school to eat once in a while. We picked Wednesday and it kind of just stuck. I wasn't sure how well behaved the little girls would be so I planned to take them to my Mom's if it didn't work out. They have behaved wonderfully every time. They love seeing Chiggie in the middle of the day. Playing on the playground is a huge treat for them as well.
So now it's just something we do every Wednesday. It gives us time together and some predictability. It's great that it's right in the middle of the week too. Things can get pretty monotonous around here.

Weird

Yesterday was just a really weird day. I didn't feel well most of the day, but couldn't really put my finger on it. By nighttime I was exhausted. I'm usually up until at least midnight so to be ready for bed at 9 is very strange for me. I was laying on the couch watching t.v. when I started to feel warm, dizzy, and kind of out of it. By 10 I was on the bathroom floor no longer able to resist the urge to purge. After about an hour of that I was able to go to sleep and while I tossed and turned I didn't feel nauseated anymore.

This morning I woke up with a terrible head cold. Stuffy nose, sore sinuses, and a raging headache. What a weird combination. Fortunately the girls are fine. So far that is. I have basically been laying around all day. Hopefully the rest will do me some good and tomorrow will be a bit more productive. I just hope we have a restful night.

Finally

I know I've said it before, but I really feel like we found our groove with this whole "back to school" routine. I'm not gonna lie it was rough at first. All the early mornings, long days, and trouble sleeping. It's not perfect by any means, but it's working. The girls are happy. The King and I are happy. I want to press pause for a minute and just enjoy it.

By the way. In case you hadn't noticed on your own, Tea wears her Hannah Montana t-shirt like everyday. Hey, it makes her happy.

No Autographs Please

Boo is a super model. Cloth diapers one day, Hollywood the next. Look out world!
