Tonight was Midge's birthday party with her friends. We took them all to Pizza Ranch and then came back to the house for crafts and a sleepover. It's nice because the little kids are all friends and no one is left out. I took pictures, but I will have to upload them later. I did get an okay shot on my phone, showing just how snowy the backyard still is!

TGIF
I could not be happier that Friday finally arrived! This has been a long and snowy week. We had an excellent school week. The bad weather actually helps. We get up early, get a nice fire going and just work, work, work. We're all looking forward to spring.

Cookie Math
Boo's math assignment included reading and preparing a recipe today. She made Applejack Cookies. They were delicious and I am so proud of the little chef she is becoming!

A Great Day!
Yesterday was a great day for Midge! It started with a scavenger hunt where she chased clues in and around the house and discovered we were going to see Big Hero Six in 3D!
After her afternoon music lesson we went to dinner at her favorite burger place, and then headed to the movies. When we got home there was cake and presents which were a hit of course. She is such a great kid, it was easy to celebrate her!

Yay, Cake!
Today was a long day, but it ended well. It has become a tradition on our house to eat a King Cake on Fat Tuesday. This year's cake did not disappoint!

Sickness
We have had some sort of sickness running through our family for weeks now. Mild fevers, up at night coughing, and two of the kids came home from school early last Wednesday. Just when I thought everyone was getting better, The King got a lot worse. He finally went to the doctor this afternoon and it's a good thing because he has Bronchitis. At least now he had medicine and can begin getting better. Buster was up most of lat night coughing so it will be an interesting week...

Poor Midge
Poor Midge is feeling lousy. I finally ran to the pharmacy to get a different medicine and she fell asleep almost immediately. She was reading a book I picked up at the library this afternoon to keep her entertained while she rests. I really hope she feels better tomorrow!

Great Deals!
Saturdays are half off day at the thrift store around the corner. Every couple of weeks we check it out, just to see if there is anything we jut can't resist. Last night we found this homemade ice cream machine for $7! The kids are so excited to try it out.
We also found some beautiful china so that we can finally fill up our new hutch. It is in great condition and has more than enough pieces to serve our entire family and guests! I am glad we went and checked it out. Buster also found a tractor for $1 which he bought with some of his own money.

Family Day
We spend a lot of time together, but much of that time is busy. We are usually doing school work, house work, yard work..... Sometimes it's nice to get out and spend time together just having fun!
So today we took that opportunity. We renewed our SAMs Club membership and had fun just looking around. The girls tried to convince us that they needed these HUGE stuffed animals!

We passed on those. Next we headed to another store to pick out Valentines to exchange at school on Wednesday. Everyone enjoyed picking them out!
All that shopping really worked up our appetites, so we decided lunch at Golden Corral was our next destination.

Now this afternoon the girls are watching a movie and Buster is playing with his Ninja Turtles. I think I will take a nice nap!

Midge and her Clarinet
Midge is really enjoying her clarinet. She started taking lessons two weeks ago and is already showing tremendous progress. I am able to help her some and I enjoy hearing her play familiar songs. She plans on performing in the spring concert if everything continues to go this well!
Super Bowl Sunday
It was surprisingly relaxing and enjoyable to watch the Super Bowl this year. We didn't really care who won, in fact both options seemed painful. We were mostly in it for the food and the commercials. The kids had a great time and right before I sliced it all up, Midge took this picture of our cake. I am thankful for these opportunities to spend time together and just have fun!
