Stomach Bugs and Picture Problems

Our spring break ended on a much worse note than it began.  Boo was sick Saturday night, followed by Chiggie, Sunday night and then after working for 8 hours straight on my final research paper and PowerPoint presentation for my last class, it hit me.  Thankfully it waited until I had submitted my work, but I am not feeling any better today.  We had already scheduled today as a housework catch up day, so we had not planned on doing school anyway.  I have been doing laundry and returning to the couch as soon as possible.

On another note, I cannot figure out why my pictures are posting so weird. They are too big, and the quality is compromised.  I am going to work on it when I feel better because it's driving me crazy.  Hopefully tomorrow I will be feeling better and able to take good care of the next victim.  I just started my last spring course for school as well and then it's on to summer which should be easier.  I am looking very forward to starting my Masters in the fall!

Shopping Fun

The nice weather has also given us the opportunity to get out and explore our new town.  We love to shop! We rarely buy much but it's fun to look and the outlets an outdoor mall are great exercise too!

A New Plan

My life has changed drastically over the last 8 years. It's a natural process sure, but I am still amazed at how quickly it has all happened!  I miss blogging about our daily life, but I feel so far behind I worry I may never catch up! So instead of blogging everything on order I am going to shift my focus.  I will write what I can when I can and update the past somewhere in between.  I can live with this. So check back often!

Spring Break

We have been working hard here in the Dauk house and after a long winter we are all looking forward to Spring! In celebration of the budding blooms and greening grass we took our spring break.  We had promised Midge back in February that we would celebrate her birthday in a special way once it wars up.  We took the warmer weather as a chance to make good on that promise!

It is so fun to go to amusement parks now that the kids are getting bigger. Watching Boo and Buster race was hilarious. Can you guess who won? You might be surprised!
Chiggie was less nervous and drove a lot faster. She took 1st place!
Joey and Tea had a blast and Tea said she has never gone so fast in her life!
Here he took a chance behind the wheel.

Midge may be small but she cannot be underestimated! She smoked Tea!
Buster even got a hole in one!
Who can resist ice cream? Especially kow that temps are above freezing!
We were glad the bumper boats were open; They are definitely a favorite!

Growing Up

Despite my nearly constant requests the kids just refuse to slow down and stay little longer! Since we moved we have celebrated 3 birthdays! For Buster's big day, we went to Chuck E. Cheese.  He also requested blue cupcakes with blue frosting which actually turned out to be really yummy! So it is now official, my baby is 4!

We Moved!

I am so happy to say that after a long house hunt we found one that is just perfect for us! I was actually very surprised at how long it took.  We were on the verge of just renting an apartment (the heat went out in the camper) and had actually just looked at a complex the day we found the house!
It has been a lot of fun cooking in full size kitchen again.  I also cannot say enough how thankful I am to have a dishwasher.  It is amazing the difference that makes!

The dining area is not very large, but we bought a table that seats all of us and a really nice hutch, so it worked out.
It is also really nice to be able to shower whenever we want.  I love having a bathroom upstairs and downstairs, so more than one person can be getting ready at a time.  Once again, this is a major time saver.
The kids really like having their own space to hang out and watch movies too.  On the other side of this room is our homeschool area, but it is a work in progress so I will share when it is ready.
One of my favorite things about this house is its proximity to the lake.  This is the view from the living room window.  The lake is beautiful.  We don't have water rights, but we are very near the public beach.
Once the snow melts, if it ever does, the kids will have a nice big backyard to play in.  It also happens to have a hot tub which is a pretty nice bonus as well.  Boston is loving being able to come in and out and we are loving not having to have him on a leash.  I am so thankful for everything this last year has entailed.  I have not enjoyed all of it in the moment, but we have learned so much!
