If It Weren't for Bad Luck....

I'm afraid I would have no luck at all. Buster is still running a fever. I wasted my whole morning getting everybody ready to go have him checked out at the doctor's office again, just to find that everything looks great. Don't get me wrong, that's good news, but it still doesn't explain last nights all nighter/scream fest topping off a nearly week long fever. Maybe he's teething? If so he's going to have to be weaned. He's a biter and the two teeth he have now are bad enough. In other bummer news, last night at the store he kicked off one of his shoes, my favorite ones of course, and even after back tracking and SEARCHING, I couldn't find it. Very frustrating......

Stats

Monday Buster had his 6 month well child check. What's that you say? He's 7 months old? Shhhhhh, don't tell him, he went right along with it. He was 27" long and weighed in at a mere 14#8ozs. That being said, he's built exactly like the girls. My babies have always been small, so neither I nor the doctor are at all concerned. He got the dreaded shots, a flu booster, and hated every single minute of it. I don't know if that all made him feel lousy or if he's coincidentally getting sick. He's been miserable ever since then and nighttime has become almost unbearable. We have all been doing so well healthwise this fall, I'd hate to see everyone get sick.....

Weekend Fun

This weekend was the first "free" weekend from the play we've had. The play may be over, but the crazy pace we have been keeping shows no signs of slowing any time soon. My sisters celebrated their 9th and 11th birthdays (they were born 1 day shy of two years apart) They had their party at the bowling alley and it was tons of fun for the girls.

I can't believe they are 9 and 11. Are kids are growing up. It's exciting. There's a lot of fun to come, I just know it.

This cake was seriously tempting. I declined. I'm trying to watch what I eat in the hopes of not gaining weight over the Holiday season.

Today we went to church and then came home and made Halloween cookies/ It's nice that the girls are getting big enough to be pretty independant about it. With 4 kids decorating, they only have to do 6 cookies a piece.

According to Chiggie, eating them was the best party anyway. This ghost cookie was her favorite.

Midge was very careful and precise about her decorating. She doesn't have much of a sweet tooth and would prefer veggies with dip. She did not get that from me.

This picture shocks even me. When the heck did Boo grow up? She looks like a kid.

Tea without her two front teeth is enough of a sugar rush for anyone. Could she possibly get any cuter?? I'm gonna go with no!

Catch Up (7 Months)

Better late than never right? Buster turned 7 months old on the 16th. He still hasn't had his 6 month appointment so I don't have stats. He does go Monday, so I'll update for sure. He is still bathing in the sink and loving it. He really likes taking a bath.
One of his other favorite past times is still eating. His favorites are yogurt and bananas.

He is sitting very well on his own. He can now get down and back up on his own as well. I know he'll be crawling soon and I'm excited for that!

Fall Fun

Summer has officially faded to fall. With that comes all of the much anticipated festivities! This week we headed, with the church youth group, to the local pumpkin patch and corn maze. Tea stopped for a quick pose just as we were heading in. It's a miracle I got this shot as she never stops moving long enough to get anything that isn't blurry.

Chiggie couldn't wait to pick the perfect pumpkin. After much searching she decided this was the one for her.

Midge and Tea stopped for a second to warm up by the fire.

Boo led the way through the corn maze. She was pretty confident.

Exhausted after "leading" us through the corn maze, Boo took a seat by the fire to wait for s'mores.

Midge was just plain happy to be there. She's been counting down for at least two weeks.

The kids all had a blast with the pumpkin wagons.

Chiggie posed for me too.

This boy is amazingly cute and I am not one bit biased!

Happenings

Bedtime around here is interesting. Sometimes it's great, sometimes not so much. I think they get over tired. We have been so busy lately and it's taking a toll.

I can't believe how big both of these kids are getting. Time it is a flyin!

Tea lost one of her upper front teeth on Friday. She was so sad because she wanted to lose it at school and it came out at home. She was eating a milk dud and the tough carmel pulled it right out.

Fast forward to today when she lost the other one. Again it happened at home. This time she wasn't even upset, just excited.

Lightning

Time is passing at lightning speed. This is good in many ways, but leaves little time for rose smelling. I have a full in-box and many un-returned phone calls. For that I apologize. Such is life I suppose.

I actually have this look on my face quite often these days!

Buster is getting very excited for Halloween. He's gearing up by wearing his special bibs.

When he's not eating baby food he can be found in the grass eating leaves. This is forever frustrating for me. He passed a leaf today, I'm not kidding, this kid loves leaves!

These two are forever concocting mischief. Here they were caught in the act of the forbidden game of "spin the chair."

Parent teacher conferences were this week and I was very impressed. Both girls are doing fantastic academically.

We have another crazy busy, and fun, weekend planned. Only 5 more performances left!

Recap

First, I must apologize for the quality of these pictures. I've been using my cell phone camera a lot more, simply because I always have it. We had a great weekend. Fast, as always, but fun and busy too. There were 2 performances this weekend. On Sunday Chiggie played Veruca and I was stage Mom. We both had a lot of fun.

My little sister is having a great time too, and it's a nice way to spend time with her as well.

Here is Chiggie as an Oompa Loompa with one of her Oompa friends.

This week was fun too with hat day at the school. Tea was so excited to pay a quarter and wear a hat.

Just for cuteness sake, this is how I have been bathing Buster. It's so much easier than having to be on my knees while he's in the big bath.
