Allergies

My seasonal allergies are back with a vengeance. It seems too soon to be feeling this way, but then I checked the yard and sure enough about 30 of our bulbs are coming up so Spring really is coming. Yesterday my headache finally progressed to migraine status and I was miserable until bed time. I feel some better this morning but will definitely be breaking down and buying some of the expensive over the counter allergy meds today.

Deceiving

He looks innocent enough right? This picture almost makes up for the dog hair and endless chewing....

MIA

Where is everybody? When I first started blogging it seemed like there was an abundance of blogs to read. People updated, commented, and posted pictures often. It seems to have tapered off a bit. Some of the blogs I used to love haven't updated in weeks. Some bloggers have so many blogs that none of them are really that interesting anymore. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? Is anyone even out there?

What Winter??

I was going through my recent archives and made a surprising discovery. This is the first year that I have not spent a great deal of time whining about how much I hate winter. Am I finally getting used to it? Did I just not have enough time to write about my loathing? Has it just not hit me yet? I can honestly say it's probably a little bit of all of those reasons.

A part of me has just accepted winter for what it is. It's cold, bitter, long, and dark. As much as it drives me nuts I think I've finally realized it's only temporary. We've also been much busier this year. The girls are older. We've had basketball and gymnastics. We've also managed to attend church on a regular basis. There has definitely not been much time to mope. Now that February is coming to a close I'm wondering if I'll get the dreaded "cabin fever" that usually plagues me each year. Who knows, maybe I just got lucky this year.

I can certainly say that I'm excited for spring. The flowers, the clothes, the weather. For whatever reason I'm just thankful that this winter has been bearable. Maybe I'm starting a new trend...

A Great Season

Saturday was Chiggie's last basketball game. I'm thrilled that we have our lives back but a little bummed at the same time. She had so much fun. The season finished off with a party complete with trophies!

Party

A birthday's not a birthday without a party right? So today Midge enjoyed rollerskating and dinner at a local pizza place. It's a safe bet we'll all sleep good tonight.

A rare shot of all 4 right before the skating began.

Midge was very pleased with her skating abilities. Chiggie is an awesome skater and pretty cute too.

Tea thought the party was rockin'.
Boo thought the coolest thing was her glow necklace.
Midge picked out a pretty loud cake.

Midge

It's cliche to say, I know, but I really can't believe Midge is 3 today. In a way she's always seemed a little "old" for her age. She speaks very clearly and has been potty trained for a year, but her babyhood still seems so recent. This picture was taken when she was 4 months old and I can't believe how much she looks like the King. She has the darkest hair and eyes of all the girls. We're not having her party until Saturday when we're going roller skating and out for pizza. She's the most excited about starting gymnastics. Next week will be her first class!

Happy Birthday Midge we love you!

Brutal Honesty

The other night I was folding a load of laundry that happened to have one of my swimsuits in it. Tea saw it and for some reason it struck a memory for her. We had the following conversation:

Tea: Where is your other swimsuit?
Me: Which one?
Tea: You know the blue one...
Me: I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Tea: The big blue one.
Me: I don't remember a big blue one.
Tea: You know, the one that makes you look like a hippo!!!!

Note to self: Find and burn big blue swimsuit!

First Night

Last night was Midge's first night sleeping in her own big girl bed. No more crib for her. She's been climbing out for some time now and it was time for some room rearranging anyway. We got Tea and Midge bunk beds which they are very excited about. Tea also survived the night on the top bunk unscathed which is a miracle. Chiggie will be in Boo's old room. Poor baby never even spent the night in there. Then Boo will have Midge's old room. I can't believe the amount of work it has taken to get things moved from one room to another.

This weekend the King will be home again and he's going to help me hang the pictures and their names on the wall. As soon as the finishing touches are done, I'll be sure to post a few pictures of the final product!

Finally

Ahhhh. We were finally able to coordinate things to buy a new computer and get it set up. I'm loving playing around on it in the very limited time that I have. The best part is the using the web cam to chat with the King. The girls being able to see him makes all the difference.

I won't bore everyone with the intricate details that occurred over the last few weeks, but I will share a few photos: Our little blondie. Midge loves wearing this wig and she looks hilarious!

Boo and Tea have had bronchialitis requiring treatments every 4 hours for several days. How can a picture be so cute and sad at the same time?

Chiggie had a great time at her class Valentine's party. Here she is sipping a root beer float.

The little girls loved being a part of the festivities!
I'll be posting much more frequently now that things have been simplified. I have a lot to catch up on and a lot of good pictures. One day at a time.

Happenings

Still not up and running at my place but here's a few things that have been going on....

  • Basketball, basketball, basketball. A lot of our life seems to revolve around this right now. Chiggie is learning very quickly and even made a 3 point shot at last Saturdays game.
  • Remodel plans. We have decided to go with a contractor both for time and energy reasons. We're having the entire bathroom along with the kitchen and dining room floors redone.
  • The King is getting ready to go back to school. This will be the 2nd of 3 sessions he has to attend to finish this program.
  • The girls have passed around a virus for the last few days that makes them fevered and cranky. Nothing serious just enough to be annoying.

So nothing too terribly exciting just life. I miss regular posting and I'll be back for good soon!
